Abstract

A chromosomal survey of 14 couples with previous histories of habitual abortions or congenitally malformed offspring, following leucocyte culture, showed an incidence of 35.7 per cent cells with breaks or fragments. The frequency of hypermodal cells was significantly higher (P 0-001) than that of the normal populations. Hypomodal cells were absent in normal controls but the incidence in habitual aborter was 5:50 percent.
