Abstract

The chemical reaction method of Toluene 2, 4-diisocyanate, Polyethylene glycol, and poly (o-toluidine) was used to prepare poly (urethane-o-toluidine) thin films with different weight ratios of poly (o-toluidine). The optical properties of prepared thin films were investigated to involve the absorption spectroscopy which was recorded at range (300-900 nm) of the wavelengths. The behaviour of the absorption coefficient, refractive index, extinction coefficient, and dielectric constant were studied as a function of photon energy and showed enhancement in their properties. The n-type silicon wafers were used as a substrate to fabricate the photovoltaic devices. The testing fabricated devices were carried out under dark and light with an intensity of (100 mW/cm2). Best power conversion efficiency of the prepared devices was recorded for poly (urethane-o-toluidine) with 50% poly (o-toluidine) to be 1.1388% with short circuit current (Jsc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) 15.883 mA/cm2 and 0.4 V respectively.
