Larvae of silkworm race Sil6 when reared on S4 mulberry variety leaves gives better results of shell weight, shell ratio, filament length. non-breakable filament length and weigh: of silk: 0.325g. 20,44%, 84666m. 757.33m and 46.33g but other parameters like denier, rcnditta, waste percentage on silk and weight of silk waste is round to he lowest 2.37. 2.41 kg. 8.63% and 4.Og respectively. Whereas when- reared on mixed leaves of both Chakmajra and S,46 mulberry varieties, the traits like denier, renditta, waste percentage on silk weight and weight of silk waste was found to be highest 2.71, 4.92kg, 16.2 1% and 6g but lowest value of shell weight, shell ratio, filament length. non-breakable filament length and weight of silk 0.227g, 11.02%. 634.3m. 628,33m and 37.00g. Variety Chakmajra has attained 2nd rank in all these parameters shell weight 0.307g, shell ratio 19.22%, filament length 762.OOm. non-breakable filamýnt length 68l.OOm, weight of silk 41.66g. dernier 2.47. renditta 3.62kg, waste percentage on silk weight 12.00% and weighi of silk waste Sg. So, the silk obtained from S146 mulberry variety k of better quality whereas mixed leaves (Chakrnajra + S,4 mulberry varieties) yields poor quality silk. However, the silk of Chakmajra mulberry variety comes in between these two varieties.
