Mass loss and Scanning Electron Microscope methods (SEM) have been used to study the corrosion inhibition efficiency of synthesized ligands i.e. N-Benzylidene aniline (CI1) and N-Benzylidene 4-methylaniline (CI2) on industrial metals viz. mild steel and aluminium in Trichloroacetic acid (TCAA). Generally study have been carried out in inorganic acids HCl and H2SO4. This is comparatively a new study taking organic acid TCAA. According to research, both aluminium and mild steel are susceptible to corrosion in organic acids like TCAA. In the same conditions, the TCAA more vigorously corrodes aluminium than mild steel out of these two metals. Study shows that synthesized inhibitors CI1 and CI2 are almost same effective for mild steel and aluminium.SEM study reveals that the surfaces of both metal are not affected in TCAA in presence of inhibitor which shows that inhibitors protect the surface structures of both metals effectively.
