Abstract

Magnetic properties of highly grain-oriented electrical steel sheets are not uniform in different directions, Standard Epstein samples were sheared at different angles to rolling direction and the magnetic properties were measured. On the basis of the conventional elliptical model and the magnetic properties variation with different angles to the rolling direction, parabolic and hybrid models were established in this paper. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that when magnetic intensity is lower than 3000 A/m the parabolic model should be adopted, and when the magnetic intensity is higher than 7000 A/m the elliptical model is more appropriate, and while the magnetic intensity is between 3000 A/m and 7000 A/m the hybrid model proposed in this paper should be applied. Piecewise models of magnetic properties simulation possess high fitting degree, which will improve the accuracy of electromagnetic engineering calculations.
