Abstract

This chapter is intended to have overall comprehensive understanding of -aVR ECG lead interpretation in various clinical scenario, for medical students, teachers and clinician. Lead –aVR is ignored for its usefulness until recent among the twelve leads of electrocardiogram (ECG). Lead -aVR is an augmented and unipolar limb lead in electrocardiogram and constructed to obtain the specific information from the right ventricle outflow tract (RVOT) and the basal portion of the interventricular septum. Lead -aVR gives reciprocal information from the left lateral side, covered by the leads aVL, II, V5 and V6. This chapter is an amalgamation and conglomeration of the imperative facts of –aVR lead in electrocardiogram. An exploration of ST-segment in lead -aVR provides useful information in anticipating the coronary angiographic anatomy in acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Lead -aVR, provides useful information that is useful in risk stratification, diagnosis, predicting prognosis and outcome in ACS scenario. The Lead –aVR may be a valuable in diagnosis, predicting the prognosis and short term or long term outcome in various diseases condition.
